Q: What’s the most inspiring part of your job?
A: We are a small but mighty community in Coronado. I appreciate and value the sense of teamwork and collaboration that our businesses, city, and nonprofits have and that makes the bigger picture so vividly clear. Contributing to the legacy and preserving what we love for future generations inspires me to do my best every day because it makes a difference.
Q: The best piece of business advice I’ve been given is:
A: My favorite boss and mentor would always say “begin with the end in mind”. It keeps me on track and in tune with our bigger picture.
Q: Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about?
A: Most people don’t know that I am a first-generation American. I am fluent in Arabic and learned to read and write it in college. I remember the proud look on my mom’s face when she opened her Mother’s Day card that I wrote to her in Arabic.
Q: What are some causes you care about?
A: The Beagle Freedom Project has had my heart since adopting our incredibly sweet beagle, Jazzy. I appreciate the work they do to get beagles into loving homes and always look for companies that don’t test on animals.
Q: In my spare time I enjoy:
A: Spending time with family and friends, preferably outdoors in Coronado. Nothing recharges my battery like a delicious lunch and a beach walk under the sun with my favorite people.

Q: What’s the most inspiring part of your job?
A: I love being connected with the small businesses that are so plentiful in Coronado. The fact that the business owners are local to the area creates a community that wants to see the best happen for the surrounding storefronts and the town at large. Witnessing the businesses working together for the greater good of one another inspires me to continue creating community everywhere I go.
Q: The best piece of business advice I’ve been given is:
A: “A job worth doing is a job worth doing well”. My father told me this growing up and it has always reminded me to finish what you start, and to give it your all.
Q: Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about?
A: Most people may not know that I am from New Jersey and that is where I grew up and learned how to surf. The East Coast! People think the ocean is flat there, but the Atlantic prepared me for the Pacific swells.
Q: What are some causes you care about?
A: Some causes I am passionate about are LGBTQ+ rights – everyone deserves the right to live their life confidently and comfortably with representation and visibility. Mental health awareness is another cause I care about because our well-being, physically and mentally, is what fuels us as humans to support and inspire one another.
Q: In my spare time I enjoy:
A: In my spare time, I enjoy taking advantage of all that southern California has to offer – surfing, hiking, finding new breweries, going to concerts at the plethora of venues in the area, taking a nap in a hammock between two palm trees, and performing music with friends.

Q: What’s the most inspiring part of your job?
A: I really enjoy meeting new people and helping create connections between our businesses to help our community prosper. I also love to plan and organize fun events!
Q: The best piece of business advice I’ve been given is:
A: Find something you like to do and it won’t feel like work at all!
Q: Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about?
A: I taught cooking classes in Japan to local Japanese women. It was so much fun creating themed menus and then sharing our cultures over meals. Besides that, I am great at Wheel of Fortune and remembering song lyrics. Haha!
Q: What are some causes you care about?
A: I have been a Navy spouse for over 30 years, so helping and supporting military families has always been important to me.
Q: In my spare time I enjoy:
A: Tandem bike riding with my husband! We ride all over Coronado on either our casual cruiser or our road bike. I also enjoy cooking and trying new recipes and love to travel.
